Congratulations to Mike and Shirley Mellor who recently completed a 926 mile cycle ride over 19 days from Lands End to John O'Groats - and they did it the hard way going up hill!
Mike and Shirley, pictured on the right, made the trip with Mike's sister Pat and, brother in law, Colin.
Impressive statistics for the route included 4,924,000 wheel revolutions, 20,000 gear changes and 57 pints of Guinness!
To date, Mike and Shirley have raised well over three thousand pounds in aid of the Rosemere Foundation. Shirley, who was diagnosed with breast cancer four years ago, received surgery and many weeks of chemo and radiotherapy treatment at the Rosemere Unit, and now she's completed the cycle ride.
Shirley said 'The care and treatment I received during and after treatment was second to none. It feels right and proper now that we should give something back and this is our way of showing our appreciation to the Foundation.'
Mike, who is a consultant in the construction industry, has been a client of Haleys for many years.
Congratulations to you both!Go Back
