Haleys are delighted with the news that Senior Client Manager Paul Farrington has been appointed Trustee and Head of the Audit Committee for the Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust (WLCT).
At WLCT the belief is that everyone can live a healthier, happier life by being more active and creative, and since 2003 the Trust has worked hard to inspire people to make better lifestyle choices.
WLCT aim to provide the very best in leisure and culture, creating opportunities for people to change their lives, investing in facilities and adding value for public benefit under a simple philosophy: “Be active, creative and healthy”. The charitable trust believes if everyone “starts well”, “lives well” and “ages well” then the quality of all our lives, and society in general, will be enriched.
The Trust works on behalf of local authorities to deliver a wide range of leisure and cultural services from theatres to parks, libraries to leisure centres and to the local communities WLCT is a partner for life, working for local authorities but inspiring people whatever their age or ability.
Paul hails from Wigan and has a keen interest in keeping fit and healthy so the activities of WLCT are close to him personally. He has first-hand experience of the good work that WLCT do within the Wigan borough and is looking forward to voluntarily affording his professional audit knowledge and experience to the trust.
Based at Haleys offices in Preston, Paul specialises in working closely with businesses to guide owners through the development of their business, helping owners focus their attention on working on their business as well as in it to define a structured plan for profitable growth and development.
He has worked across the Lancashire region and has experience of acting on a wide variety of audit clients including those in construction, manufacturing, and education.
