A client of haleys was celebrating success with some of the biggest names in television on Sunday night following a win at the 2015 TV BAFTAs.
Nicola Shindler, founder of the Red Production Company in 1998, and three other members of her writing and production team on drama series Happy Valley, received the award for Drama Series in 2015; one of 27 awards given out in the event’s 60th year.
haleys are very proud to act for Nicola and we would like to congratulate her and her team on a fantastic achievement. Happy Valley first aired on BBC One from April through to June last year, consistently receiving an average of seven million viewers.
The six-part crime series covering a police sergeant’s attempt to solve a botched kidnapping case edged out some of the past year’s biggest TV dramas to win the award on Sunday, including Line of Duty, Peaky Blinders and The Missing. It also continued a strong pattern of recent success for Nicola and Red with a previous win in 2013 for romantic TV drama Last Tango in Halifax.
Individual performances in Happy Valley were also recognised with nominations for Sarah Lancashire and James Norton in the Best Leading Actress and Best Supporting Actor categories respectively, and even Nicola herself just missed out on her second award of the night for her crime drama Prey in the Mini Series category.
But on a night where some of TV’s biggest names such as Ant & Dec and Graham Norton were also awarded for their on-screen activities, the popularity of Happy Valley paid dividends with a night to remember for all involved.
haleys would like to wish Nicola and her team all the best for future productions.
