Former Managing Director of CHR Equipment Limited, Ron Neville, was the latest recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Catering Insight Awards.
Ron was greeted with an uproar of applause, as he received the award for 40 plus years’ service he has given to the catering equipment industry.
Catering Insight editor, Clare Nicholls, told guests that Ron began his working life in the hospitality industry in 1971 selling slicing machines – for which he got £5 per sale and no salary, as well as a three-wheeler Bond mini as his company car!
Under his guidance, CHR delivered projects for the likes of Claridges and Manchester House, and become one of the most respected and successful kitchen houses in the UK. Ron has also developed alongside his son Paul, who is now Managing Director of CHR Equipment Limited, Eco-Chef designs which is now a major brand name.
CHR Equipment Limited is a family run business that specialises in the design, supply and installation of commercial catering equipment, and provides an after sales service to the UK food service industry. The business was founded in 1993, by Ron and his wife Ann, and over the last 20 years they have seen the CHR team grow to include catering consultants, projects managers, creative kitchen designers, and skilled engineers.
Ron kindly gave us the following testimonial before his retirement “We appointed haleys in 2011 and since then we have seen turnover climb by 57% and an even greater increase in profitability. haleys has provided huge added value from detailed management information monitored against forecasts to trade mark protection and succession planning for the family.”
haleys would like to congratulate Ron on this incredible achievement, and would like to wish him and Ann well in their retirement.
